Do robots really help?
The world’s first robotic outdoor laundry drying system has been on the news and had some amazing people stop by during Tech Saturday at MBS. From this event I was able to gain confidence that robotics can actually help. One individual mentioned that he and his sister would schedule alternate days to help with the laundry drying at their mother’s place, as it's too dangerous for her to do it herself. He said "With the Raincheck, not only would our mum be safe, it will make our lives a lot easier as well".
"Technology doesn't have to be complex to help improve lives. Take this device called "Raincheck", developed by Merdawin in PIXEL labs, for example - it helps the physically challenged and the elderly hang clothes out to dry." Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, Minister for Communications and Information and Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs
Dr Yaacob said, "Technology doesn't have to be complicated - as long as it can help people's lives, right?" http://str.sg/42xn
